Well I'm so random at posting blogs, I thought I would go ahead and try to Twitter as well. If anyone is interested, my Twitter is: http://twitter.com/mommy2cj
Life has been very busy lately. Work is crazy busy, which is great in light of the current economic conditions in my area.
All in all, life is good.
The little one is growing every day in the way that he speaks, communicates and even plays. He loves to keep busy! We are getting ready to start T-Ball and looking forward to warmer weather!

Its been a while....
Well, sadly, this is my first blog of the year! I let this get away from me over the holidays and by January - I had forgotten my password.
But all is on track now. It was an excellent Christmas with the family and lots of excitement. Now we are just taking it a day at a time and braving the cold. Life is busy, which is good. I have had the pleasure of taking care of my 10 month old niece one weekend per month while her mommy & daddy work, which keeps things exciting.
My little one has ventured into the land of extracurricular activities! We are enjoying swim class and bowling with T-Ball coming soon.
More to share later....

Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving!
It has been a busy couple of weeks for us. The little one and I were able to see the Rockettes this past weekend and in style. We were invited to go with family and we had our own suite at the arena, traveled by limo downtown and then went out for a great lunch with family. All in all, a great day. It was so fun to see the little one's excitement every time Santa was on stage - he waved like crazy!
The little one had a field trip this week to a hands on museum and I was lucky enough to be a chaperone. It was fun getting out and about with the kiddies, but also a little stressful. The museum was okay - I grew up close to another center like this and held my standards by that. I was a little disappointed. The little one thought we were going to a museum that would have dinosaur bones, so he too was disappointed.
I'm excited about the month of December. Christmas is my favorite time of year and I'm looking foward to decorating and all of the upcoming events. I've contemplated going out for shopping the day after Thanksgiving....but I'm thinking its just not worth it. I'm also thinking this year it may be fun to go to a tree farm to select our Christmas tree. That have a lot of family friends activities at the farm. We are going to attend the tree lighting for our town next week. The little one will love this! We have not been in the past, so I'm hoping we all enjoy the event.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends. Its a great time to remember how lucky we are compared to others. I'm thankful that I have a job, that I have a home, that I have a wonderful loving husband, that I have my little one and my doggie and that I have supportive and caring family and friends. Life is good in our house and I'm thankful.

Lindsey tagged me....
7 things about myself:
1. I love, love love to read. Especially when times are tough at home or at work. I'm a James Patterson and Nicholas Sparks junkie. Its fun to escape from the real world sometimes.
2. I'm obsessed with stupid TV shows. I don't get to watch much TV, but when I do it is solely for my entertainment - no history or discovery channel for me. My favs right now: Biggest Loser, Clean House (sad, I know) and I watch Big Brother and Hell's Kitchen when they are on. You may also find me watching some random cooking show (even though I cannot cook very well).
3. I have major fears and anxieties about the world we are living in. Sometimes I feel like I worry more than would be normal.....worry about the little guy going on field trips (who is watching him, what if the bus is in an accident, etc.). It is so weird. I had no idea I would go completely loopy after having a child.
4. I struggle majorly with my weight. Up and down, up and up. No end in sight for this battle.
5. I love my life! I love my family and my friends.
6. I have planned out how I will spend my lottery winnings when that one in a million event occurs. I know the type of house I will have, I know the type of car I will drive. I'm fully prepared to win.......just playing the waiting game now.
7. I suffer from Grave's Disease. Most may know that. Even though I have received treatment, its an ongoing process to keep my medication balanced. If its off even a little, I become tired and do not remember things well (even things as basic as signing my name). This part drives my loving, patient husband completely crazy.
So that is it about me............
My only follower is you Linz :) The one that inspired me to attempt blogging. Have to say, I'm enjoying it!

Crazy busy!
Its been a while since I've had the time or opportunity to sit down and write. Work has been busy. On one hand, that is good for the practice. On the other hand, our busy schedule is the result of several people losing their jobs and needing buy-out/severance packages reviewed. It is hard to balance good fortune vs. bad fortune. My heart breaks for the people in this State and sadly, it seems it is going to get worse with the upcoming power change in the government.
On a happy note, my baby turned 5. I cannot believe he is 5!!!! We had a swim party for him at the local highschool (which was a very cool location!). Lots of little kiddies turned out and they were just adorable. I was a little nervous about their swimming abilities, but they did fine and had a blast. Now I must contemplate building an addition on our house to make room for the toys. And just think.....Christmas is right around the corner!! It was a lot of fun to hang out with my mommy friends. We don't get to see each other as much now that the kids are spread out at various schools, so its always great to get together.
I am also a new Aunt (again)! My nephew Logan was born last week, which resulted in a trip to Ohio. It was fun to see everyone, but I'm glad to be home again.
I'm looking ahead to the holidays and I'm excited to start the Christmas decorating!! Christmas is my favorite time of year :)
As for this weekend, we will still be quite busy. The little one has bowling and then we have another birthday party to attend. Quite a busy season for the birthday parties....

The little one....
So when you have a little one, you get this overwelming need to make sure that they are safe when you are not with them and that they adapt strong character and morals.
To say the least, I was taken by surprise this week when I was confronted by our child care provider and was told that my little one has become a victim of peer pressure (the little one is only 4 years old).
I was devasted when I learned that another little child was bullying a friend of my little one and pressured my little one until he joined in.
I was heart broken when I learned that the little friend is someone that we have been friends with for years, since the little ones were babies. I was even more heart broken when I spoke to the other mom and learned all the details of what her child has been going through the past month because of the other little boy (not my little one).
As I type this, I hope that my friendship with this mom makes it through this rough patch. I also hope that I find the strength and courage to guide my little one through this ordeal and help him learn to be his own person and face the consequences of his own choices.
I'm nervous and concerned about the future. What will happen at school? Will the problem child be dealt with and under control? Do I need to find new child care for my little one after class?? Will he be seen differently by teachers and other parents after this incident?
My little one is a wonderful, energetic, smart and well-behaved little boy. This situation has been completely out of character.......I'm hoping it passes soon and without creating conflicts for my little one.
Wish me luck............

Can you say STRESS?
Okay, so I'm having one of those weeks. A week that goes along with "when it rains it pours."
Work has been crazy...not necessarily with business, but with stressful issues. My little one had some issues at school yesterday apparently because he was over tired and I'm struggling unsuccessfully with my weight issues.
Lets just say that I'm looking forward to the weekend!
On a happier note, we took the little one to pick out his Halloween costume this week. He chose to be an "army guy." He looks adorable. We put up the Halloween decorations and I also got to have a nice dinner out with my man and my little one - this was definitely a treat!
On the agenda for the weekend: the little one is bowling with friends on Saturday and hopefully some family time on Sunday. I just got in the movie Sex and the City from Netflix and I'm looking forward to chilling by myself Saturday night and indulging in a chick flick ;) I'm also going to make homemade butternut squash soup this weekend with squash from our garden. Love the garden!!
I also really need to evaluate my next step with the weight struggle and come up with a plan for the week. In the meantime, I'm going to search the blogs and view some of the weight loss blogs floating around and search for a few new recipes.
